Everyone’s favorite crime-solving Pokemon is back, as later this year, Detective Pikachu Returns will hit shelves. Once again, the wise-cracking Pokemon and his human partner Tim Goodman are tasked with solving cases in Ryme City, and this time, they’ll be able to recruit several other Pokemon to help them out. Preorders are now live at major retailers ahead of its October 6 launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
Preorder Detective Pikachu Returns
$50
Compared to the original Detective Pikachu game, which was a Nintendo 3DS game, this sequel has a sharper graphical presentation thanks to it being built from the ground up for Switch. Nintendo describes the new Detective Pikachu game as a “cinematic adventure” game that stars the chatty Pokemon, who loves to crack wise and drink absurd amounts of coffee.
Like before, you’ll be able to explore Ryme City as you tackle several different cases, meet Pokemon trainers, and enlist some crime-solving help from multiple generations of Pokemon.
If mystery-solving with a Pokemon isn’t enough for you, a few more newly announced Switch games are also up for preorder right now, including Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario RPG.
If you’re looking to save some cash, here’s how you can take $20 off the combined price of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Pikmin 4. And to see what else Nintendo has in store for the rest of the year and beyond, you can click through to grab all the highlight’s from this month’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
