Calvin and Hobbes are two of the most iconic names in comics, and on March 5, more of the duo’s adventures are being rereleased in a portable paperback set. The Calvin and Hobbes Portable Compendium: Volume 2 is now up for preorder at Amazon–and there’s a slight discount if you decide to reserve your copy prior to launch.
The Calvin and Hobbes Portable Compendium: Volume 2
$20 (was $22)

This 288-page collection includes nearly 500 comic strips offered in chronological order and covering the period of March 1987 to July 1988. It features two books that can be stowed inside a compact slipcase (which features artwork from Bill Watterson). The books include both black-and-white and color illustrations and clock in at just 6.1 inches by 9.1 inches, making it easy to slip them into a backpack or toss them into a suitcase.
The first volume of the Portable Compendium collection was released last August and is available at a more substantial discount (down to $14.63 from its usual $20). It offers the same number of pages and a similar, streamlined profile, so consider grabbing it to get the first two books in a pocketable format.
If you’re unconcerned about travel-friendly editions of Calvin and Hobbes, you can pick up The Complete Calvin and Hobbes Box Set for $68 (down from $135). Available now, the 1,456-page paperback collection looks great on a bookcase and is a great way to show off the comics. The hardcover collection is also up for grabs, but it’s quite a bit more expensive–though it’s currently on sale for $129, down from its list price of $225. If you’re a longtime fan, this collection is the best way to enjoy the entire series.
