The Nintendo Switch is an incredibly versatile console, but playing in handheld or tabletop mode often drains its battery faster than you’d expect. And if you want to connect additional accessories while in tabletop mode, you’re out of luck–all Switch models are lacking in ports when not docked. However, Hori is hoping to fix both those problems with the Portable USB Playstand for Nintendo Switch, which launches on December 29 and is now up for preorder.
Hori Portable USB Playstand for Nintendo Switch
$40
This officially licensed product works with the original Switch, Switch OLED Model, and Switch Lite. Along with serving as a stand for tabletop mode, the Playstand acts as a passthrough charger to refill your battery.
Best of all, the Playstand includes four USB ports, allowing you to connect additional controllers so your friends can join in on the action. When not it use, it folds down into a compact shape that’s easy to transport. Keep in mind that the AC adapter is not included with the Playstand, so you’ll need to bring the one included with your Switch (or pick up a second one to take on the road).
Still in the market for a Nintendo Switch console? Then take a look at the Mario Kart Switch Holiday Bundle, which gets you a standard Switch system along with a free copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and a three-month Switch Online membership. If the bundle happens to sell out at Amazon, you’ll also find it at Target and Best Buy.
