Razer has announced new versions for its line of gaming speakers with the Nommo V2. The gaming peripheral company is known for its flashy accessories and ultrathin laptops, and the Nommo V2 fits that mold–yes, these speakers have RGB lighting. There will be three different SKUs available: the Nommo V2 X for $150 USD, V2 for $300 USD, and V2 Pro for $450 USD. They’re set to launch on June 12, according to the Amazon listing. Each comes with different features so we’ll break down what you get with the three models.
- Razer Nommo V2 X ($150) – 2.0 speaker set without a subwoofer and no RGB lighting.
- Razer Nommo V2 ($300) – 2.1 speaker setup with a wired subwoofer and Razer’s Chroma RGB lighting.
- Razer Nommo V2 Pro ($450) – 2.1 speaker setup with a wireless subwoofer and Razer’s Chroma RGB lighting. Also comes with the Razer Wireless Control Pod.
The star of the lineup is the pricey Nommo V2 Pro with the wireless subwoofer and Razer’s own Wireless Control Pod packaged with it. Chroma RGB lighting is built into the back of these speakers to project ambient lighting, and it’s customizable in a similar way to other Razer products. You can set different lighting profiles to the Nommo V2 and V2 Pro and even have them sync and adapt to the color profile of what’s on the screen in real-time.
The Wireless Control Pod is more than a volume dial and can be customized to control different features on your PC, such as mouse DPI settings, swapping profiles across other Razer peripherals, or the lighting settings of the speakers for example. The puck runs on AAA batteries, which are included, but that is one thing to note. You can also purchase the Wireless Control Pod separately for $50 USD, as it’ll work with the Nommo V2 and V2X as well.
